Global intellectual property indicators report: global trademark filings exploded in 2020 despite global pandemic.
According to the WIPO report, patent applications increased in 2020, as did design applications. The number of trademark applications also increased quite significantly(+13,7%).
For patents, the first applicant is China, avec 1.5 million patent applications. France isplaced in 6th position.
China is also first in terms of trademarks, with 9.3 million applications; designs with 770.362 applications, or 55.5% of the world total; and new plant varieties with 8.960 applications, or 39.8% of the total.
