Artificial Intelligence (AI)

PubliƩ le 29 August 2024

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to a field of computer science focused on creating systems capable of performing tasks that would normally require human intelligence. These tasks include reasoning, learning, perception, language understanding and decision-making.

AI can be classified into two main categories: weak AI and strong AI. Weak AI is designed to perform specific tasks and is the most common type of AI today, used in applications such as virtual assistants, image recognition and recommendation systems. Strong AI, on the other hand, would be capable of understanding and reasoning across a wide range of situations comparable to human intelligence although it remains largely theoretical at this point.

AI relies on sub-disciplines such as machine learning, where machines learn from data and improve their performance over time without being explicitly programmed, and deep learning, a subcategory of machine learning that uses large neural networks to analyze vast amounts of complex data.

In short, artificial intelligence is transforming many industries by offering innovative and efficient solutions and its continued development promises to further influence how we live and work.
