PubliƩ le 5 September 2024

The Nice classification is an international classification of goods and services intended for the registration of trademarks. It is used and managed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The classification consists of 34 classes of goods and 11 classes of services.

Each country that is a party to the Nice Agreement is required, for trademark registrations, to apply the Nice Classification either as a primary or secondary system and to indicate in the official documents and publications related to its registrations the class numbers of the classification to which the goods and services for which the trademarks are registered belong.

A new edition is published every five years and since 2013, a new version of each edition is published annually and comes into effect on January 1st.
