Montenegro’s membership took effect on 1 October 2022.
It goes back to 2007 when Montenegro expressed its interest in such integration, discussions with the European Patent Office have been ongoing since then.
Starting from 7 founding States in 1977 to now have 39, the European Patent Organization is a place of international cooperation between States and helps to promote innovation and economic growth.
