On September 28, 2021, the Government of the United Arab Emirates filed at WIPO its instrument of accession to the Madrid Protocol, making the United Arab Emirates the 109th member of the Madrid System, which now covers 125 countries.
The UAE is the third country in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), along with Bahrain and Oman, to join the Madrid Union.
The protocol enters into force for the UAE on December 28, 2021.
This is obviously good news which should allow budget savings for this territory.
